Today I’m smiling because my daughter-in-law sent me a cute picture of my granddaughter Larabella. She’s dressed in a little outfit I bought her at Eumundi Markets, on the Sunshine Coast. Any photo of Larabella makes me smile.
I’m grateful for my husband. He went away for a golf weekend and I kept busy (re-siliconing the shower), housework, running the dog, catching up with girlfriends and spending time with my son. On his return his emotions always show how much he misses me and I realised I missed him too. I’m very grateful he’s by my side, still appreciates me and is my best friend.
Set time aside for your health and happiness. No matter how busy you are you need to time manage YOU time. Whether it’s to walk in the sunshine for half an hour, or to curl up with a relaxing book. We need this time to rewind and reboot.
Make a commitment to yourself to achieve whatever goal it is you wish to achieve. You can take small steps as long as they are steps towards this goal. Write it down. Pin it to a board or put on your fridge to remind yourself of how important the goal is. Whether it’s writing a novel or starting a fitness regimen just take that first step and move forward.
I’m happy right now because my dog has chosen not to eat my mum’s budgie, Sunny. I’m bird sitting the adorable little bird and Mahli cocks her head to the side listening to the bird talk and talk. It’s hilarious.
I’m happy that I have some wonderful friends who are supportive, funny and captivating. We can talk through issues in our lives and help each other resolve things with compassion and humour. We’re all very different and we embrace that too. That makes me happy today.
