Lifestyle reminder counting down

Five weeks seems like plenty of time but I’m down three weeks and it feels like it’s going as quick as Sally Pearson over hurdles. When you want time to slow down it seems to move faster and when you want it to speed up it drags on. Despite all that five weeks is just that, five weeks.

So I’ve lost a minute amount of weight, but I’ve been doing a lot more weigh resistant exercises. Remember muscle weighs more than fat. So perhaps I’m coming along okay thanks to Chelsea at Wise Force Gym, Burleigh. At only $10 a 1 hour class it’s terrific value and I’m seeing the improvement in muscle definition. I’d recommend ladies who live close by to give it a go. There’s a nice bunch of people to encourage you too.

I’ve been more conscious of my eating and have cut out any junk and added more protein and greens, plus trying to drink more water or coconut water (I love Cocobella).

Fresh vegetables are a great source of nutrition.

My results so far:

  • Feeling less bloated in the stomach
  • Lost 2.4kg
  • Feeling fitter
  • Hitting the boxing pads harder
  • Lifting heavier weights easier (though I don’t lift much over 18kg)
  • Having fun with my fitness

And, the real test. Those white jeans that couldn’t get over my thighs are now up to my waist – but the zipper doesn’t do up. Oh well, two and a half weeks to go. We’ll see.

Donna Munro is an author, freelance writer, blogger, graphic artist, content writer, book marketer, administrator, web editor and book reader. She's been published in Take Five, The Australian Woman's Weekly, For Me, She, That's Life, Woman's Day and Club Life (as well as smaller publications). She recently formed Warm Witty Publishing to self publish her debut novel 'The Zanzibar Moon', because she's too impatient to wait any longer. Donna lives on the Gold Coast with her husband, youngest son and the weirdo Staffy Mahli. She adores being a grandmother but still feels young. She often joins her husband's pool cleaning business, just for fun (but is unsure if she's all that helpful). She keeps fit and has a fondness for elephants (she sponsors Tundani in Kenya) and owls. You'll often find her digging her toes in the sand while reading a novel at the beach.
