Day 88 to 93 of 365 Days of Gratitude

Day 88 to 93 of 365 Days of Gratitude

Here we go with another five days of gratitude for 2017.

Rainbow magic

Day 88 I am grateful for:

The morning kiss from my husband even if I’m asleep, because he gets up and hour before me to go to work and always kisses me goodbye.

Day 89 I am grateful for:

Receiving an email to tell me my chapter is published, because I collaborated with writers from around the world through Lovely Silks Publishing. Even better; they made me the featured writer with a photo and my chapter as a sample on the front page of their website. My chapter is called: Missed the Boom in Baby Boomer and the book is Having it all at Fifty Plus Innovation Edition.

Day 90 I am grateful for:

I received a phone call from my son in Canberra, because he asked me to draft an article for him for the Air Force magazine about his CrossFit journey.

Day 91 I am grateful for:

The weather clearing and being luckily untouched by the flooding, because so many people have lost so much and have to start again. It’s heartbreaking for them.

Day 92 I am grateful for:

Almost a whole day of editing and writing, because I’m loving how The Zanzibar Moon is turning out. I’m rereading and falling in love with my characters all over again. Some more than others.

Day 93 I am grateful for:

The rainbow over my house this morning when I arrived home from Hammer Fit’s Kick Fit, because rainbows make me smile at what nature can show us. It’s like magic in the sky.

Be grateful for whatever you have, as we’re recently seen from the cyclone and floods that things can change in an instant. Sending good vibes to all those effected.

Day 73 and 87 of 365 Days of Gratitude

Day 79 and 87 of 365 Days of Gratitude

What a year already! It’s the 87th day already and a day of gratitude that I’m not in North Queensland today as Cyclone Debbie bears down. I’m thinking of friends up that way and wishing them safety.

Day 79 I am grateful for:

A photo of my dad on my side table, because when I see it I smile. Yes, I miss him but I think of him every day and feel he is somehow with me.

Day 80 I am grateful for:

It’s Tuesday, because we should like Tuesday as much as any other day. We wake up and we are still here.

Day 81 I am grateful for:

The promptness of Alliance when my car alternator stopped, because, though I ended up needing a tow (and it is a bugger of an annoying thing to happen), I got to enjoy a bit of sunshine while waiting – a lovely morning.

Day 82 I am grateful for:

Being reminded by the hubby that I didn’t have a car, because I didn’t want to let down a friend. We walk along the creek and beach Thursday mornings. I’d totally forgotten and had planned to meet her and quickly let her know that I had no vehicle.

Day 83 I am grateful for:

The arrival of my latest newsletter from The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, because they just saved baby elephant Kuishi. See below:

Day 84 I am grateful for:

My husband, because today we’ve been married 28 years. I am so grateful that he is warm, kind, loyal, calm, funny and my very best friend. When you read so much in the media about domestic violence I truly count my blessing that I have a happy household where there never is, and never will be, violence of any sort. My husband won’t even raise his voice to the dog and cannot understand people who hurt their loved ones. If you or anyone you know needs help contact White Ribbon.

Day 85 I am grateful for:

Just a Sunday at home, because sometimes pottering around home, making it clean, tidy and warm makes me feel good.

Day 86 I am grateful for:

That my youngest son has compassion, because he woke us in the middle of the night (not the best for our sleep pattern). He’d had a few drinks and was overly emotional. When I asked why, he explained that he was really sad for a dog being mistreated by its owners, and he wanted to do more to help it.

Day 87 I am grateful for:

Living on the Gold Coast, because today it would be terrifying being in the path of Cyclone Debbie. At the time of writing this the cyclone was still to cross the coast but it’s sounding ferocious. Please stay safe everyone and listen to the advice given to you by authorities.

Be grateful and think of those in North Queensland bunkering down.
